There are reasons I don’t read all the time:
i get lost
too involved with the story
i can’t put the book down…even when out to mongolian bbq with my family…
i know, it’s a problem. So I try and only read a novel or two a month.
yes, yes, it’s a funny goal. But I haven’t touched my paints for several days and they are calling to me!
Here are some of my latest reads that have kept me up till 1:30 so I can finish or keep me awake until I go and finish them:
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks
It’s not all a guilty pleasure though…it is also fulfilling…especially when the designer and I talk late in to the night philosophising topics of agency, brotherly love, difference, and parenting goals for the future…:)
What are your greatest distractions you have to minimize? What novel do you suggest for my next great distraction?
