The kiddos and I are big culinary fans. This summer we’ve made all sorts of things together. We’ve even begun bottling and canning our favorite salsas, soups, apples with spices, and tomato sauce. They crack me up sometimes how serious they get about cooking: whether it is wearing an apron, helping me measure each ingredient, trying all my kitchen gadgets and tools, and stirring to their heart’s content. I hope one day they’ll look back and remember all the fun times we had daily in the kitchen: our most frequented room of the house. I hope they’ll want to share that fun and that vitality with their kiddos and grand-kiddos. One of these days I’ll have to share some of the recipes they come up with: {mom, let’s make a cake with banilla, coconut oil, syrup, honey, salt, flour, ketchup, mustard,…mustard? no let’s be silly!} Till then enjoy your next culinary creation! ~ katrina
