The kiddos are in love with marshmallows…despite my steering them towards healthy food…:) I have decided that the only way I like marshmallows is to eat them in warm krispie treats! Thanks designer for that realization. Now I feel a bit sick as I write our krispie treats adventure…but I know better! 🙂
Of course the kiddos were so excited to make rice krispie treats. We talked of making snowmen krispie treats, but as we pulled out the cookie cutters, found that we could do all sorts of holiday shapes: music note (for caroling), a bell, star, heart (goodwill towards men…right?), a bunny and frog…well I guess they didn’t all go, but it was fun!
As I was looking through our Holiday Book pile atop the piano, I thought of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and the memories listening, watching, and reading the story. I know this isn’t the year for the kiddos to learn it, (we’re too busy making holiday rice krispies…:)) but we are reading Ben’s Christmas Carol by Toby Forward in hopes of preparing them for a future opportunity.
Do you have a favorite Holiday tale you are sharing or want to share with your kiddos one day?
