Growing up, my favorite bread was always buttermilk biscuits. We would bake them in our favorite cookie cutters: a lamb, a star, or a heart. Just one of the many ways my mom would make a simple thing simply lovely. I have always admired her for that.
We’ve been using spelt flour a lot lately, and the nostagia for the biscuits prompted this recipe. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
What bread/muffin/biscuit brings back sweet childhood memories?
spelt biscuits
2 c spelt flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp raw sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 stick butter
3/4 c almond milk
bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes
makes 12 lovely biscuits
mmmm…biscuits sound yummy.
Thanks for the recipe! I have a TON of Spelt in our food storage and have yet to try it out. All of the spelt recipes you post are great. I am going to attempt to make wheat/spelt bread this week…..
So fun, let me know how it goes. 🙂
