(there are big kiddo daily delight announcements and an invitation at the end of this post…don’t miss it!)
One of my favorite parts of Spring is going on walks in the evening. FHE is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors as a family. Last night we walked around our new-old neighborhood. Gathered the mail, walked up and down the hillside, through the tennis courts, through a kiddo-scaled forest, and explored the playscapes. Everyone had a wonderful time.
The builder found himself a useful walking stick.
The dancer loved exploring with the mail.
The explorer just happy for a ride.
Oh the views…
Our first lichen and moss discovery of the season.
Later we read Wish: Wishing Traditions Around the World by Roseanne Thong, with art by Elisa Kleven. An extremely thoughtful birthday gift from my sister Brittany! With traditions from 15 different countries, we will be busy for the next 3 weeks!
If you’ve been waiting for the right book to adventure along with your kiddos, this will be a wonderful place to start. A preview of the book can be found here on google books. Purchase it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or your favorite local bookstore. Or, better yet, check your local library. If they don’t have it, request a copy added to their collection. Get together with some friends and their kiddos and make some wishes with your kiddos.
Do you live near my kiddos and I? Starting next week, all are welcome to join us in our kiddo daily delight Tuesdays at 10 am in the Swiss Oaks Clubhouse. Just email me or leave me a comment here on the daily delights, telling when you will be coming and how many kiddos you will be bringing so that I have enough materials.
To learn more about the author, Roseanne, click here for her website.
As for a sneak peak…the countries whose traditions are showcased in this book are:
Australia, Brazil, China, Guatemala, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, and the United States.
Do you know the wishing traditions of a country not in the above list? Let me know and I’ll include it as one of our kiddo daily delights.
Oh, I’m soo excited! These next few weeks will be soo much fun! Thanks again Brilliant Brittany! I couldn’t be happier with my gift!
