Our third activity using “I Love My Pirate Papa”, by Laura Leuck. The kiddos decided to set off for the high seas on their ship of rubble out back.
I was so grateful that the snow has nearly melted (again), and that they could explore outdoors!
The builder carefully took his sister’s hand, walked with her down the deck stairs, across the sand pile, through the field, and to the beloved “boat.” As I fed the grower and tidied up inside, they worked together, gathering provisions for their voyage. The sliding door was open and their excited squeals were carried to us by the southern billowing wind. They had a marvelous time together.
As their adventure ended, I watched to dancer sit in the field, and fuss with her boot. The builder joined her, shaking rocks out of her boot for her. Together, the put her boot back on. She stood, and sat again. Finally, she took both boots off and headed for home. The builder grabbed his treasured sticks and her boots (one between his teeth), and followed her home.
