Our niece had her tonsils and adenoids removed Friday, so we made her a get-well-card, or more appropriately, a “glad-you’re-feeling-better” card, for she bounces back faster than most kiddos/adults I know. She’s a brick. 🙂
We’ve been trying to explain the procedure to the kiddos, but I think they at least understand that she is ok and that she had to see the doctor. That will have to do.
For fhe we read Frog and Toad are Friends, and took her the card.
Frog and Toad are some of the first stories I remember reading all by myself. How about you? This book has a chapter where Toad thinks Frog is sick, and another where Toad doesn’t want to get out of bed. They were great to read as we talked about their brave cousin and her recent sickness.
Glad you’re feeling better Miss Maci. Love you!
Thanks for filling us in on the news about Maci. Also, I LOVE the frog and toad adventures. They are such great scenarios for children to relate to and filled with fun action packed events that can be role-played/acted out. Great idea!
Jessi,
You’re oh so right about Frog & Toad being great stories for dramatic play time. We’ll have to try that next week!
