Whenever I see lavender I think of my Grommie (my mom’s mom), whose absolute favorite color is lavender.  Her homes have always been decorated in lavender…we call it her lavender palace.  Grommie’s place was always a sanctuary; a place for reading, listening to jazz, eating ethnic food, watching musicals, documentaries, and the latest award-winning drama.  The color lavender will always be a restful place for me…and my kiddos.  Their GiGi now carries on the same traditions of inviting them to taste, listen, and have stories read.  We love you G!
