There was something magical about reading the Berenstain Bears by Stan and Jan Berenstain throughout my childhood. As I look back I think it was the tree that they lived in. Probably the same reason that I loved Swiss Family Robinson (still one of my favorite stops at Disneyland).
The kiddos have been routinely building tree houses in their bedroom. This is mostly the builder’s project, but the dancer is willing to play along. They have spent hours rearranging, building and creating their soft hideout.
So I thought an appropriate book choice was The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree. The builder loves the adventure and will say some of the lines before I do. The dancer thinks its simply spooky.
Pictured below are the builder in his tree house and fixing it with tools.
