Animal Stackers by Jennifer Belle, illustrated by David McPhail is a wonderful book for toddlers, early readers, and tweens alike. Fun for the whole family.
Targeted learning areas: alphabet identification, early spelling, large and fine motor skills, for older children: poetry, word play.
After enjoying the poetry and images in Animal Stackers, the kiddos loved using our stacking blocks (another Melissa & Doug wonder) to spell the names of their animals. They identified the letters and animals. Building towers and breaking them was another interest of the kiddos, not a surprise. 🙂
We’ve got to take this one back to the library tomorrow. We’ll be checking it out again soon.
