Not only was Balance a great experience for the massage, but their example in green building was also quite the experience.  The owner, Marty, shared some of her experience with the materials used in the remodeling of the wellness center. 

Their reception counter is made of kirei, a beautiful board created from the reclaimed sorghum fibers.  On the Green Building Center’s website, (my favorite green building source) I found information on Kirei and the website for Kirei USA, their chosen supplier.  The Kirei eliminates the agricultural waste polluting waterways and reduces waste in landfills. 

The natural patterns and geometry are simply beautiful in various interior design projects such as furniture, flooring, cabinetry, and wall coverings.  Check out USA Kirei’s site for more photos, ideas, and local dealers.
